Honokowai
Honokowai Maui is a small town located just South of Kahana and just North of Kaanapali. The name Honokowai means "bay drawing fresh water" in Hawaiian. The town was once home to a freshwater spring that provided drinking water for the local population. Today, Honokowai is a thriving community with a mix of residential homes, vacation rentals, and small businesses. Visitors can find everything they need in Honokowai, from grocery stores and restaurants to surf shops and art galleries.
As you drive through Honokowai, on the "Lower Road" (Lower Honoapiilani Rd.) There's a lot to see.
When it comes to shops and restaurants, you don't need to go far to eat amazing food, or buy groceries or other essentials. Times Market, Slappy Cakes, Pizza Paradiso, Java Jazz and Okazuya Deli are some of the favorite places to get what you need. And don't forget: Shave Ice in Paradise,

As you make your way through Honokowai you'll also find the Honokowai Farmer's Market (across the street from Honokowai Beach Park) as well as "Fish Market Maui" where you can get incredible local seafood and fresh fish.
Bring the Ohana out to Honokowai Beach Park for a BBQ or to just enjoy the beach and soak in the sun. This small beach is tucked away between two rocky outcroppings, offering a peaceful escape from the crowds. This is a great spot for swimming and sunbathing. There are also some nice tide pools to explore along the shoreline.

When it comes to things to do in Honokowai Maui, there is no shortage of options. One of the unique features of Honokowai is its proximity to some of Maui's best snorkeling spots. Just offshore from Honokowai Beach Park lies a coral reef teeming with colorful fish and other marine life. Snorkelers can easily access the reef from shore or by taking a short boat ride. In addition to snorkeling, visitors can enjoy swimming, paddleboarding, kayaking, and fishing in the calm waters off Honokowai's beaches.
If you're looking for a more relaxed way to spend your time in Honokowai Maui, consider visiting one of the area's many spas, with treatments including massages, facials, and body wraps. Alternatively, you could take a yoga class at one of the local studios or practice meditation on one of the area's beautiful beaches.
